The AGC Education and Research Foundation advances and support education in the construction industry and support or contribute to scientific or research projects and programs deemed to be beneficial to the advancement of technological, educational, or vocational expertise in the industry. THE AGC FOUNDATION WILL ACHIEVE THIS BY:

• AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS to qualified undergraduate and/or graduate

students enrolled at ABET or ACCE accredited schools and colleges in the field of construction or construction-related engineering who
demonstrate an interest in pursuing careers in the construction industry and meet the Foundation’s academic and extra-curricular criteria for such scholarships.

• PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
support teaching faculty in the field of construction or construction-related engineering at ABET or ACCE accredited schools and colleges.

• AWARDING FUNDING for scientific research projects or other programs deemed by the Foundation to be beneficial to the advancement of educational, technological, or vocational expertise in the construction industry with awards based in part upon recommendations of ABET or ACCE accredited schools and colleges or other groups with special knowledge in construction or construction-related engineering.

Construction seniors: Your ideas could help shape the future of the industry!

The AGC Education & Research Foundation's 2027 James L. Allhands Essay Competition is now accepting submissions from senior-level construction students ready to tackle real industry challenges and share their perspectives. This year's topic, "Promoting Effective Collaboration during Preconstruction," asks students to explore how stronger teamwork and communication can lead to better project outcomes.

🏆 The first-place winner receives a $1,000 award, while their faculty sponsor receives $500. Both will be invited as guests of the Foundation to attend the AGC Annual Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.

🎓 Congratulations to the 95 graduating scholarship recipients of the Spring 2026 semester from the AGC Education and Research Foundation!

This year, the Foundation provided more than $238,500 in scholarship support to graduating students preparing to enter the construction industry as the next generation of leaders. Graduates were also recognized with AGC Foundation honor cords during commencement ceremonies.

A new week means a new Outstanding Student Chapter Award Winner to highlight! Our Outstanding Student Chapters demonstrate tenants of Skill, Responsibility, and Integrity.

Boise State University's AGC Student Chapter won the 2025 Construction Management Skills for their exceptional work on the Highlands Elementary Ball Wall Project. The chapter members played a pivotal role in creating a cast-in-place concrete ball wall for a playground in their school district.

The AGC Education and Research Foundation is now accepting applications for its Workforce Development Scholarship—helping future builders take the first step into the construction industry.

This opportunity supports students pursuing hands-on training, certifications, and associate degrees, with funding to move their careers forward.

What You Need to Know:

💰 $1,000 per year, renewable for up to two years
🏗️ Open to students pursuing technical training, certifications, or associate degrees in construction
⏱️ Available to both full-time and part-time students
📚 Must be enrolled in an approved construction-related program
🎓 Must plan to take at least one class in Fall 2026
