We recently had the pleasure of issuing a WRAP certificate to Samsonite South Asia Pvt. Ltd. The plant, located in , is the largest Samsonite facility in and the first of its kind to be certified by us.

Our President & CEO, Avedis Seferian, accompanied by our Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement, Mark Jaeger, Head of Operations for India and Sri Lanka, K.T. Ramakrishnan, and Senior Auditor and Trainer, VINAY SAXENA, visited the facility in May to hand over the certificate in person.

During a celebration attended by a large portion of the workforce as well as top management – including Samsonite India's CEO, Jai Krishnan, and Vice President, Yashwant Singh – Avedis was able to show off his fluency in Hindi by giving a speech to the attendees in their language. He congratulated them on their achievement, emphasizing that it would not have been possible without contributions from everyone in attendance.

Over the past 18 months, WRAP led the deployment of a unique tool that allowed 14,739 in 10 countries to communicate their lived experiences and concerns directly – and anonymously – to six leading organizations. Using this data, we were able to identify the most prevalent issues in global , and explore pathways forward.

This paper shares the findings of a joint worker survey conducted from October 2021 – March 2023 in labor-intensive manufacturing facilities in exporting countries.
