Founded in 2014 by Vince Leone, VetStarts is dedicated to helping Veterans enjoy successful and significant lives. VetStarts has been able to reach out to 375 Veterans, and assist 101 Veterans start their own business. Half-Time for Veterans and Warrior Art are VetStarts two flagship programs. Today we honor the Battle of Iwo Jima.

In 1945, more than 80,000 Sailors and Marines from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Marine Divisions confronted a deeply entrenched enemy on volcanic rock for 36 days. Japanese forces raked the beaches with devastating fire, but the Marines pushed forward.

They seized the high ground of Mount Suribachi within days and, after a month of relentless combat, secured the island.

The image of the flag-raising on Mount Suribachi endures as a powerful symbol of American unity, sacrifice, and the unbreakable will of a Marine.

To the veterans of Iwo Jima and all who served: your courage and sacrifice are never forgotten. VetStarts stands with you. 🇺🇸

Dr. King's dream of equality and his commitment to nonviolent change continue to inspire us. His words remind us that "the time is always right to do what is right."

Today we remember the combat phase of the Persian Gulf War—a pivotal moment in military history. On this date, a U.S.-led coalition launched a massive air campaign against Iraq, following its invasion of Kuwait.

We honor the service members who answered the call during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication during this conflict shaped modern warfare and demonstrated the strength of international coalition efforts.

As we gather around our trees and dinner tables today, our hearts are full of gratitude—but they are also with those who aren't home.

Today, we honor the brave men and women currently deployed across the globe, standing watch so we can celebrate in peace. We also hold a sacred space in our hearts for the families who have an empty chair at their table this year—those remembering a hero who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

To our veteran community, our supporters, and our Gold Star families: We see you, we honor you, and we are with you.
