Naval Sea Cadet Corps (Sea Cadets), a youth program for ages 10 and up,
gives young Americans a competitive edge by providing world-class leadership development,
training opportunities, mentorship, life skills, confidence, challenge, and adventure. Sea Cadets offer today's youth the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become productive, responsible American citizens with an appreciation for the

This Virginia unit honors the Naval officer and computer science pioneer who laid the foundation for many of the information technologies that power our Nation. Sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1177 and supported by the Virginia Army National Guard Leesburg Readiness Center, the unit provides young men and women opportunities to learn seamanship skills, serve their community, and grow as leaders of character.
