🏘️🚨 Housing News: A July article from CNBC highlights that the cost of housing is the top political issue among U.S. voters between 18- and 34-years-old — ranked higher than the cost of food or protecting democracy.

A recent CNBC survey showed that the costs of housing was the most important issue for male respondents between ages 18- and 49-years-old and second-most important for those respondents of all genders between 35- and 49-years old.

Great work, GCC!!!

Breaking news! Citizens Bank has responded to efforts by GCC, GBIO and De-Ice Citizens and confirmed it is ending its credit relationship with Core Civic and GEO Group, which finance detention facilities.

This campaign is a great example of how taking collective action works! While we celebrate this milestone, the work isn’t finished.

Our coalition gathered over $24 million in pledge bank deposits and were ready to move them if Citizens continued to finance detention facilities.

❗️Only 13% of Fairfax homes built in the last 4 years are affordable.

The Faith in Housing legislation that VOICE, the Commonwealth Housing Coalition, and pro-homes allies helped pass earlier this year may be key to meeting the county's 10k new affordable units goal and addressing the nearly 100k housing gap by 2035.
