Founded in 2008, VOICE draws together residents of four Northern Virginia jurisdictions: Prince William, Fairfax, and Arlington counties as well as the City of Alexandria.

Congratulations to the National Domestic Workers Alliance for securing a proclamation making June 16th Domestic Workers' Day in Arlington!👏

We're thrilled that the county now officially recognizes the critical role that domestic workers play in our communities. Thank you, JD Spain Sr. and the Arlington County Board, for taking this step today to honor domestic workers and acknowledge their contributions.

💬Discuss housing challenges in your communities

🫂Investing in better mental and behavioral health support saves lives⤵️

We’re thrilled to share recent data from the Prince William County Crisis Receiving Center (CRC). After several years of organizing by VOICE and our allies, this first-of-its-kind facility in Virginia opened in October 2025 and began accepting walk-ins this January.

In just the first 3 months, the CRC already:
❗️Served 883 individuals
🛏️Reduced the number of individuals waiting 8+ hours for a bed in the ER by 66%
🏥Reduced out-of-area placement from 43% to 8% for individuals needing inpatient hospitalization
🚨Saved 900+ police hours spent on mental health calls

Share this post so those experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis can get the immediate, in-person support need they need — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
