IEC Foundation

IEC Foundation Foundation and community organization As homes and businesses require more wiring, electricians will be needed to install the necessary components.

Founded in 1996, the Independent Electrical Contractors Foundation (IECF) funds grants, scholarships and programs that contribute to the growth of the electrical and systems contracting industry and allows all students equal access to education, apprenticeship and training. The IEC Foundation is 501c(3) certified and your gift is fully tax-deductible according to the guidelines of the Internal Rev

enue Service. Please click here for a copy of the 501c(3)

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of electricians is projected to grow 14 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. The job prospects for electricians should be very good, as many employers report difficulty finding qualified applicants. Hands-On Learning

Through IECF funding, new apprentices are given the opportunity to train to become electricians and technicians. Thanks to our industry partners, this training includes hands-on learning using the latest, high-quality equipment available. Apprentices consistently report how valuable this experience is for their education. One Apprentice at a Time

IECF funded training provides an opportunity for individuals to succeed

• Young people seeking an in-demand career.
• Veterans returning to civilian life.
• Women in non-traditional jobs.
• The unemployed or under-employed.
• The disabled unable to secure employment in other areas.
• The disadvantaged for whom higher education may not be an option. An IEC apprentice is not only encouraged to become the best at his or her trade, but also to learn how to manage and grow a business.
