Greenwater Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to Humanitarian and Marine Conservation projects. On the humanitarian side, Greenwater has established a base of operations in Kyiv, Ukraine to store and distribute vital water quality testing kits and construction equipment to our partners in the Ukrainian scientific, educational, and humanitarian communities. Over the past y
ear, the Foundation has sent numerous individuals over to Ukraine and is now looking to expand its mission and, most importantly, its impact! Feel free to review our various missions in more detail below and make a donation at https://greenwaterfoundation.org/
Ukraine Safe Water & Rebuilding Solutions
To provide support to the Ukrainian people, Greenwater Foundation is supplying water quality testing and treatment kits and vital construction equipment throughout Ukraine. Helping established Ukrainian water quality groups and experts build a war-time network to field test water sources, leveraging the already robust network of churches and community groups presently supplying truckloads of humanitarian aid as well as procuring sufficient quantities of field test kits to sustain comprehensive testing.
2. Providing the field test kits, a GIS program to track water sources, a vessel and personnel to test river water and larger bodies of water; coordinating efforts; and identifying sources of funding.
3. Sourcing and distributing much-needed construction equipment to our local partners to aid in reconstruction efforts in some of the country's hardest-hit regions. Conservation
Projects address critical marine conservation issues such as climate change, ocean plastics pollution and biological collapses by taking an active role in marine science research (and other research and exploration) at sea. Arranging vessels and other scientific assets for projects in Panama (leatherback turtle conservation), Papua New Guinea (exploration of meteor in ocean depths) and Fiji (research and conservation center development).
2. Conducting research vessel activities, including: hydrographic surveying, environmental sensing (including water sampling and hydrographic sounding of the seabed), scientific diving and unmanned underwater vehicle research, and
fisheries research. New York Harbor School Education Program
Greenwater Foundation works with the inner city public school on Governorβs Island focusing on marine and maritime education as an advisor for the school. Program expansion goals:
1. identify opportunities for underserved communities to intern on vessels and help arrange internships for individuals that are members of those communities.
2. Base a vessel on Governor's Island for students to use for projects such as the Billion Oyster Project to rehabilitate beds in NY harbor.
