Our hearts are full of gratitude for our incredible monthly donors.

Earlier this month, several of them joined us for "Bag It Forward," preparing more than 100 sandwiches for our outreach team to share with neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Their impact reaches far beyond one afternoon. Monthly giving provides the steady support that lets us meet urgent needs, offer shelter and housing services, and walk alongside people as they rebuild their lives.

Ending homelessness in our region takes all of us, in the same room, working on the same problem.

Today, Kasia Shaw, Liz Nohra, Frances Mack, Sydney Ryan, and Amber Hounshell joined the 6th Annual Regional Homelessness Forum, hosted by Kaiser Permanente and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

The room was full of the people doing this work every day: nonprofit providers, Continuums of Care (CoCs), and advocates from across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The conversations were practical, the partnerships were real, and the commitment to housing equity was clear.

Kaiser Permanente is an incredible partner, and we’re grateful to George Leventhal, Ph.D., and the entire team for creating space for this regional collaboration.

We’re heading back to our community with new ideas and new connections. Let’s keep building.

Our outreach teams meet people where they are: on the street, in encampments, and in moments of crisis. We offer connection before solutions, because trust can't be rushed. Sometimes the most important thing we do on day one is come back on day two.
