The Unyielding Battle Against Breast Cancer!!!

Breast cancer affects black women differently than other racial groups. According to the American Cancer Society, black women have a higher death rate from breast cancer compared to white women, and are more likely to be diagnosed with later-stage cancers that are harder to treat. Some factors that may contribute to these disparities include: limited access to health care and screening services, differences in tumor biology, and social determinants of health such as poverty and lack of education. It is important for black women to be aware of their personal risk and to seek regular screening and early detection.

Breast cancer doesn't discriminate. It doesn't care if you are young, old, black, white, rich or poor. It just doesn't care.

Knowing is powerful. This is what you can do:

1. Schedule your yearly mammogram, when you leave your doctors office.

2. Schedule your mammogram as early as age 40.

3. Know how you breast feel and look.

4. Be Physically active.

5. Don't smoke

6. Eat your fruit and vegetables.

Tell 3 women to schedule their mommograms.
