Anyone looking for their Primitive Tents Training? There's one coming up!!!

We are looking for 2–3 more participants to fill our upcoming Primitive Tents Training. At this time, we only have two people registered.

This training is offered only twice a year, and the next opportunity will not be available until April. We would love to see anyone who has completed the Cabin & Tent Prerequisite Training and has been interested in taking their outdoor skills to the next level to consider registering.

If you have volunteers in your Service Unit who may be interested, please encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity!

Take your outdoor skills to the next level with Primitive Camping! Designed for Girl Scouts ready to experience a more self-sufficient style of camping, this training introduces participants to essential skills for camping with fewer amenities and greater emphasis on preparation, problem-solving, and outdoor living. Participants will learn practical skills such as campsite selection and setup, cooking with limited resources, fire safety, Leave No Trace principles, outdoor sanitation, water considerations, and other skills needed to confidently support a primitive camping experience with their troop.

Join Girl Scout Troop 3599 as they celebrate their Silver Award Project at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center!

The girls created a Pickleball Supply Chest that the community can use anytime they visit Cliff Nelson. Come help them kick it off with a FREE clinic led by a professional pickleball instructor—plus FREE snow cones! 🎉

Then apply to join the Girl Advisory Council (GAB)!

Girl Advisory Board members help influence GSTOP operation, programs, and policies in support of the council's strategic goals as well as contribute to GAB-set goals.

Time Commitment Note:
There are approximately ten meetings per year. Meetings will be set for a weekday (will base off of the day most participants are available) night at 7PM and will last approximately one hour.

Input from everyone is a key part of the committee's mission; therefore, **attendance should be made a priority**.

A little more magic left the world today.

Today, Girl Scouts everywhere are saying goodbye to one of our own, Dolly Parton. She understood something we know so well in Girl Scouting: that when a girl is encouraged to dream, given the confidence to try, and surrounded by people who believe in her, she can change the world. Dolly spent her life doing exactly that. She lifted others up, opened doors, gave back, and reminded us that you can be wonderfully yourself while making a difference in the lives of others.

In 2007, she became a Girl Scout Lifetime Member, receiving her very own sash and badges. The Coat of Many Colors Patch was also developed here at Girl Scouts of Southern Appalachians and thousands of girls across the globe have participated and earned it.

Thank you, Dolly, for showing us what it looks like to dream bigger, love bigger, and give bigger.

Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout.🦋💚
