We are accepting 10U teams for the Start of Summer Tournament taking place June 5–7, 2026 at Burnham Field in Methuen, MA.

USA Softball of MA is offering a complimentary course designed to be the first stage in training new adult umpire candidates. The training will focus on fundamentals to prepare participants for their initial USA Softball game assignments.

Umpires will be expected to procure uniforms and associated gear at their own expense.
On-field clinics and Mentors will be available through local umpire groups as well as through
USA Softball of Massachusetts.

The class dates scheduled are Feb 4, 9, 11, 23, 25 for classes. Class Time: 7PM - 8:30PM
These classes will be held via Zoom. We have options if there are dates you would miss.

Our hearts are broken today as we hear of the passing of Carol Savino. Thoughts and prayers to everyone in the Mass Drifters program and of course Carol’s family.

It’s been a tough couple of days as we lost Coach Dick Hurley as well. The last few years Dick had crossed over to the officiating world where he continued to give back to the game he loved.

Carol and Dick have been legends in the world of youth softball for years.

We would like to pause to honor and remember former USA Softball Central Massachusetts Commissioner Mr. Walter Babcock. Walter was enormously impactful to the game of softball, and advocated for opportunities for girls in Massachusetts. He was pivotal to our League as we created our travel ball divison, Sturbridge Storm, answering endless questions and guiding our Board through the process of developing a travel ball program. He also assisted our volunteers as our Board expanded our Recreation program, and as we added our Adult League division. Walter, thank you for your time, devotion, and dedication to the sport we all love.

We will be honoring Mr. Babcock during our opening ceremonies at Jamboree.
