Trout Unlimited Costa 5 Rivers Program The Trout Unlimited Costa 5 Rivers program is a network of over 65 TU-affiliated college fly fishing clubs around the nation. Join us at fly.fishing!

We are a nationwide network of conservation-minded college fly fishing clubs. Good times, with good people, doing good stuff. As the capstone of the Trout Unlimited Headwaters Youth Program, these clubs seek to engage current and aspiring fly anglers on their campuses nationwide.

What’s up, 5 Rivers!

If we haven’t met, my name’s Nick, and I’ve been running the 5 Rivers Instagram this past school year.

First, I want to thank Cliff for giving me this incredible opportunity. Your support, guidance, and trust throughout the year has meant so much! I’m really grateful for everything you’ve done.

I also want to thank Joe and Cecily you both made me feel welcomed and appreciated from the start, and I can’t thank you enough for that. And finally, thank you to the entire 5 Rivers community. There truly isn’t another program like this one, and I feel lucky to have been a part of it.

This will be my last post here, as I’m heading out to join Flylords as an Editorial & Social Media Intern. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but 5 Rivers will always mean so much to me!

Scenes from this year’s Midwest Rendezvous through the lens of

These photos capture the community, adventure, and connection that make 5 Rivers so special. Huge thanks to Lilli for documenting the weekend and sharing her perspective as both a fly angler and creative.

As a PhD student at UIUC, she shared that fly fishing has helped her step outside the world of academia, build lifelong friendships, and reconnect with her love for native fisheries and the outdoors, something that shines through in every frame.

Thank you Lilli, and for helping showcase what 5 Rivers is all about.

Last weekend we held the annual Midwest Rendezvous, a weekend bringing together 6 different 5 Rivers clubs at West Fork Sports Club in Viroqua, WI. With generous support from the campground, we spent our time giving back and building community through conservation and time on the water.

From planting 125 trees to a trash clean up competition, this crew showed up ready to make an impact. Huge shoutout to local volunteers John and Henry for sharing insight on current fishing conditions. Whether posted up by the fire or down by the river netting some beautiful trout, the weekend was one to remember!
