RCBL has moved from 727 23rd St S to 745 23rd St S, Arlington, VA. The first classes of this term were scheduled to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7th. With the recent snow expected to continue tonight, all the local school districts have decided to close schools again in Tuesday. So we will NOT have any classes on Tuesday, but we will plan our first class day on Thursday.

Basic Computer Skills
A free, hands-on class teaching basic computer skills will be taught at the Resource Center for a Better Life (RCBL) at 727 23rd St S, Arlington Virginia. This class will be taught on Saturdays from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, beginning October 12th and ending December 14th, using computers with Microsoft Windows. The number of students for this term is limited, and the students must be able to get to the RCBL each Saturday.
The class is intended for new immigrants and refugees who already speak some English and can follow written or spoken instructions. The class will teach computer-related vocabulary (English) as well as principles of operation. It will introduce the use of browsers and applications for searching the internet and for creating and editing documents and spreadsheets.

The Resource Center will not be holding classes so the teachers can participate in a special training.

Este es un curso de 25 lecciones para estudiantes alfabetizados en su idioma nativo.
idioma y está familiarizado con el alfabeto latino y la fonética, pero que solo puede decir palabras básicas
palabras u oraciones en inglés. Con hablantes nativos de inglés como instructores y
voluntarios, el curso enseña habilidades básicas de conversación en inglés, enfocándose en
Prácticas de vocabulario, comprensión auditiva y conversación, con algo de lectura y
escribiendo. El curso está diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes a aprender habilidades básicas de inglés para poder
prepararlos para mejores oportunidades laborales y educativas y ayudarlos
ampliar sus círculos de amigos.
