Sidewalk Construction Underway at The Common!

Beginning this week, the northern entrance near the Performance Hall will be closed for approximately seven days while that section of sidewalk is completed and the concrete cures.

The main entrance to The Common remains open, and all programs and activities are continuing as scheduled.

Once work on the northern entrance is complete, construction will move to the main entrance. We’ll keep you updated as the project progresses.

Thanks for your patience as this exciting improvement to our campus and the Arlington community moves forward!

Please join us on Friday, August 7, from 5-7,
for the opening reception for “If You Can Want, You Can Need,” a new work by artist Susan Weiss exploring beauty, desire, and the line between wanting and needing.

The exhibition combines a series of original Polaroid photographs and a box installation of the black tulip. Together, these works examine how ordinary objects become symbols of aspiration, accumulation, and obsession.

This event is free and open to the public.

Saturday Community Coffee
Join us for Community Coffee from 10 AM–Noon on Saturday mornings.
On Saturday, July 25, we’re bringing back our popular Repair Cafe.
Do you have a favorite piece of clothing, tablecloth, or fabric that’s seen better days? Please don’t toss it! We’d love for you to bring it to The Arlington Common Repair Café.
We are so excited to be joined by the wonderful seamstress Lynn DeMaria, the talented textile artist MaryJane Sarvis, who is doing block printing, and the expert embroiderer Ursula Wolz. They can’t wait to help you transform those little mishaps into beautiful, custom designs.
