Heroes work at The Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project. We know them well. They have helped several young men find a home with us. Please follow and support them. The brief NPR story attached will explain how current policies are endangering kids who escape violence to our nation alone. Please listen and pass on.

There are 24,000 kids in the U.S. who don’t have a parent or legal guardian and who don’t have any legal status in the country. About 1,800 of them are currently in federal custody.

And these are children who, for some reason or another, have arrived alone in the U.S. and who our government has an obligation to protect. Part of that protection is ensuring that children have independent legal counsel, not only to explain their rights to them, but also to represent them and help them apply for relief that they likely qualify for.

We are prepared to continue representing the children we have made that commitment to and to do whatever we can for as long as we can to stand with unaccompanied children in Arizona facing deportation.

Folks, in today's episode of VHH 101, we have an important opportunity for all of you to lend your voice and speak up for the rights of immigrant children who came to the United States without being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The current federal administration has severed ties with nearly a hundred legal organizations across the country that provide immigration advice and has been funneling kids into fast-tracked court hearings.

The goal is to strip unaccompanied children of legal representation so they can be deported faster and with less scrutiny.

Please take a moment and follow the links below to be better informed about the current legal crisis and how you can assist an organization that is making a difference in the lives of unaccompanied immigrant children. Your voice is important!
