Instagram turned 16 yesterday—and what better reason to rewind to the year it all began? 👀

Before Reels. Before Stories. Before iPhones had three cameras. Just Saint Viator in the fall of 2010. 🍂📸

As we welcomed our first Future Lion Shadows of the school year today, we couldn’t resist a throwback to where the journey began for some Lions 15 years ago! 🦁

In spring 2011, Saint Viator welcomed middle school students from across the area for Future Lion Day. They explored campus, joined in games and activities, and got a taste of life as a Lion.

Many of these Future Lions would go on to become Saint Viator graduates from the Classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018!

Alumni, swipe through and see if you recognize any familiar faces. 👀

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Saint Viator community remembers and prays for all those who lost their lives and the heroes whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We remember in a special way Mary Lenz Wieman ’76, a Sacred Heart of Mary alumna who lost her life in the World Trade Center.

This year’s remembrance carries special meaning as Mary’s Class of 1976 prepares to gather this weekend for its 50th reunion. Twenty-five years later, Mary remains part of the class and community that continue to remember her.

Today, our students, faculty, and staff will honor Mary and all those lost through prayer and a moment of silence.

May we never forget. 🇺🇸

On Wednesdays, we wear pink. 💕

This week’s throwback celebrates the one and only Dean Deb—and the heartfelt moment that started a beloved Saint Viator tradition.

In 2011, seniors dyed their polos pink and gathered to welcome Dean Deborah Scerbicke back after her battle with breast cancer. What began as a show of love for a cherished dean has continued through generations of Lions.

Swipe through a little pink polo history, from Dean Deb and the early years to today. We love you, Dean Deb! 🤍💙
