It is with sadness that we share the passing of Fr. Larry Lentz, C.S.V., former Saint Viator High School faculty member and president.
Fr. Lentz began his ministry at Saint Viator in 1969, serving in both the English and Religion Departments before being named president, a role he held from 1984–1986. Throughout his years at Saint Viator, he made a lasting impact on generations of students, many of whom remember him for the personal interest he took in their success and his willingness to go out of his way to help them reach their potential.
Following his time at Saint Viator, Fr. Lentz continued his ministry in parishes throughout the Viatorians community, including St. Viator Parish in Chicago, Maternity BVM Parish in Bourbonnais, and Viatorian parishes in Las Vegas. He also served as Assistant Provincial from 2013–2017.
We give thanks for Fr. Lentz's years of faithful service, leadership, and dedication to Catholic education and the Viatorian mission. Please join us in praying for the repose of his soul and for all who mourn his passing.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
