Today, we mourn the loss of a truly special member of the FamilyForward community, Connie Wayman.

For many years, Connie gave generously of her time, talents, and heart to FamilyForward - as a mentor, event volunteer, food pantry coordinator, editor, and behind-the-scenes supporter who helped keep our organization moving forward.

Her dedication to our families and belief in our mission made a lasting difference. We are deeply grateful for all she gave and for the countless ways she strengthened the community through her service.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones, especially her husband and FamilyForward board member, Tim, and her son, Alex.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all of us at FamilyForward.

A mom in Palatine was able to maintain her housing while on extended medical leave from work.

CELEBRATING MOM L: Mom L just completed her second semester at community college, pursuing an associate’s degree. Before she enrolled, Mom L had been concerned about the logistics of adding two classes (plus homework and studying) to her already busy schedule — working full time and raising two children. But her determination paid off. Mom L made the Dean’s List!

Earlier this week, Case Manager Jess Kim and Program Director Sarah Harte had a great time meeting students and parents at the school supply pickup for school districts 59 and 25, held at Faith Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. The Arlington Heights Kiwanis Club prepared 800 backpacks stuffed with school supplies. 💚

Special thanks to retired FamilyForward Executive Director and longtime Kiwanis member Chuck Warner for making sure FamilyForward is always included in this event. 🤩
