Update: This project is an idea that myself and a few others came up with to honor a few local hero's so they may never be forgotten.
Unfortunately Ark City has other plans.
The approval of housing next to veterans lake (6th St pond) makes this idea unrealistic.

(Romor) In a meeting about the development someone asked about the future of the Sgt Mills fishing derby and received not only dirty looks but was asked to not to bring up Mills again.
It might be better to place a memorial uptown. In the public eye.
I'm also going to reach out to the Lions Club and ask what they think of Ark city's plans with the lake are.
I'm not 100% sure but in looking at the city plans, it might remove both the flag poll and the pavilion.

Thank you everyone for liking this page.
I apologize for not post as much as I would like.

Remembering the sacrifice of our local hero's is my number one priority.
Today was wreaths across America, and event that places a Christmas wreath on all veterans head stones at all national cemetery's all across the US.
I could not go another year with out honoring our bravest. They paid the ultimate sacrifice, it's the least I could do by making sure they are honored as well.

Sorry for the long post.
Thank you and God bless.

Didn't want them to be left out this year's Wreaths Across America.

“Remembering Our Fallen,” a sad reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by the more than 70 Kansans killed in the War on Terror in Afghanistan or Iraq, is on display this week in downtown Arkansas City.

My name is K.C. Wright and I am conducting a fundraiser, and asking for donations and participation in bringing the traveling memorial, “Remembering Our Fallen”, Afghanistan and Iraq, to Arkansas City, Kansas during Arkalalah. This memorial is in honor of the men and women who have died in the armed forces while helping to protect our freedom.

The traveling memorial is distributed through the efforts of Bellevue University. To bring this tribute to our city we will need $800.00. This amount can be reached through donations. Therefore, we are asking local businesses and the public in joining our efforts to help honor those from Winfield, Arkansas City, South Haven and other communities.

About Bellevue University & the "Remembering our Fallen" Project
“In March, 2011, Bellevue University became the educational sponsor for the "Remembering Our Fallen" tour. The University is proud to offer our support to Bill & Evonne Williams in their quest to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.”

Mission Statement: “Patriotic Productions is dedicated to honoring our military, including those who have died, while serving the United States of America.
‘Remembering Our Fallen’ is a tribute to all of those who have died as a result of wounds suffered in a war zone, while in uniform, since 9-11-2001.” www.rememberingourfallen.org

Willow Fashion will be hosting the wall during Arkalalah but I need help to get it here. A news press will be released with details and your name or business name if you choice to help.
This wall has been on display once before and I believe its time to bring it back.

Thank you,
K.C. Wright

Warriors of the 21st Century are professionals who volunteered to join the United States Armed Forces. They grew up in the shadow of September 11, 2001, a defining moment for most of them. Many have endured multiple deployments and most return home. Some do not.
