Stan Elrod visited with the Arkadelphia Chapter, NSDAR.

The History of the Habicht-Cohn-Crow House, Arkadelphia, Arkansas as presented by Stan Elrod. The house was built by Col. Anthony Habicht (Union Army) around 1869 and inspired by the Natchez antebellum home, The Burn. (Location 812 Pine Street)
Other owners of the home included M.M. Cohn and A. M. Crow. Descendants of the Crow family lived in the home for 100 years.
Elrod’s remarks also included the
Nearby home of William Gerig, well known engineer with projects such as the Panama Canal and Alaskan Railroad.
He married Fannie Crow and they lived to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in their home in 1940.
Mr. Elrod currently owns both properties; operating the Habicht House as the site of an insurance agency with 7 employees and is in the process of restoring the Gerig House.
Guests included daughter, Melanie Bobo and grandson, Tyler Bobo, and friend, Kim Ward.
Regent Terry Hagood presented Elrod with a lawn flag recognizing 250th anniversary of America.
