I'm back!
The last two dates I picked to do another bike ride had to be cancelled. The first for lack of riders (riders couldn't make it last minute) and the second time due my work schedule (I've been working really long days/nights and weekends).
I would like to plan a ride for October 16, 17, 18. The ride would again be from Tucson, AZ to El Paso, TX over the course of three days. The distance is approximately 350 miles. I want to know how much interest there is in doing this ride from the cyclists out there so I can plan it out.
Last time riders had to pay hotels in Tucson, Douglas, and Columbus. This year I'm planning a camp at Columbus with dinner included for a very small contribution (maybe free depending on number of riders). I'm trying to work something out for Tucson and Douglas too, but can't guarantee those two. This will give everyone the option of staying in a hotel or camping out if they prefer (for fun, to save money, or both).
I will require a sign-up fee from riders to re-cover some of the costs associated (I provide an RV that is available throughout the ride, some snacks, chase and lead cars). I will likely also require a donation made directly to our beneficiary, the Surviving Cancer program from the University Medical Center Foundation in El Paso, TX.
Let me know on this page or send me an e-mail if you're interested (luis11angels @ gmail.com).
If you are a business or an individual interested in sponsoring aspects of the event, or sponsoring a rider (to cover their transportation/hotel/meals), send me an e-mail to discuss and we'll work someting out.
