We are entering a Performance Improvement Renaissance—and it’s being driven by technology.
We are excited to announce Robert Feeney, Chief Vision Officer at Knowledge as a Service and creator of Ringorang®, as a keynote speaker for the ISPI 2026 International Conference in Nashville (30 March – 2 April).

For years, the biggest challenge in Human Performance Technology (HPT) has been sustainability. Robert will show us how the "continuity" of a solution is no longer a hurdle—it’s the new standard.

Why you can’t miss this keynote:
1. The Renaissance of Human Performance Technology (HPT): See how technology is reviving our core methodologies and making them more scalable than ever.
2. The "Easy Button": Learn how to use AI- and Technology-driven tools to deliver sustained impact across entire organizations without needing a massive staff.
3. The Human Inflection Point: Technology does the heavy lifting, but it requires our HPT expertise to drive the results.

Right after registration, conference participants also receive a coupon for a free performance improvement workshop to apply the GPS-IE methodology as well as a copy of the Manager's guide to evaluate AI.

LEGEND: Roger Addison

DECADE: 2010s

CHALLENGE: The 2010s brought rapid transformation—globalization, digital transformation, and expanding performance data. Organizations could measure more than ever, yet many still struggled to improve the right things.

Leaders were asking: Are we improving results—or just tracking activity? Who owns performance, and how do systems support it?

RESPONSE: Roger Addison advanced the field through his work on Performance Architecture, emphasizing that performance improvement must be designed at the system level—aligning strategy, processes, roles, and measures.

He also provided practical frameworks used by performance practitioners worldwide:

> RSVP (Results–System Thinking–Value Added–Partners) — linking desired results to the systems that create value.

> The Four Ws (Work, Worker, Workplace, and the World) — clarifying performance by asking: are each of these entities of work attended to in the solution, including impact on the world?

IMPACT: Addison’s work helped organizations move from isolated interventions to designed performance ecosystems, reinforcing that sustainable improvement comes from aligning systems with results.

His contributions strengthened Human Performance Technology and continue to guide performance practitioners today.

LEGEND: Peter Pipe

DECADE: 1990s

CHALLENGE: The 1990s were the decade of reengineering. Organizations were flattening structures. Globalization was accelerating. And leaders were asking a sharper question: How do we align people, process, and purpose — not just train better?

RESPONSE: Peter Pipe helped reinforce and advance a core ISPI truth during this era: Performance must be designed at the system level. His work emphasized rigorous front-end analysis, environmental and process diagnostics, and clear linkage between interventions and organizational outcomes. He created a format for solving ANY performance problem.

IMPACT: Human performance technology moved into boardroom conversations. It was embedded measurement in intervention planning. It shifted practitioners from course builders to performance architects.

AI systems don’t fail loudly. They drift quietly until trust is gone.
Many implementation teams miss this because they treat evaluation as a final step, versus an integral part of the front-end analysis.

To fix this, we need to go beyond simple chatbots. The industry needs a standard that validates real-world impact, not just "AI knowledge". This is why ISPI launched the Certified AI4PI Technologist (CAIT) credential.

It’s the first certification grounded in a systematic process at the intersection of Performance Improvement and AI. It requires a real-world project—proving you can design and protect performance over time using the AI4PI framework.

It’s all about recognizing consistent, worthy performance at the intersection of Performance Improvement and Artificial Intelligence.

Gert started with AI4PI Journey (free for ISPI members), then get certified as AI4PI with real-world capstone project: https://buff.ly/sF8k0xE

Lastly, conference participants will receive a 50% introductory discount for the new CAIT certification, another reasons to join the discussion in Nashville.
