Last week, the Ardmore Development Authority hosted the 2026 Oklahoma Lt. Governor’s Invitational Turkey Hunt.
Began as a way to introduce site consultants and business leaders to the opportunities in rural Oklahoma, seven communities across the state welcome guests from across the country for three days of economic development via the outdoors. Each of our guests is paired with a local volunteer guide and shown not only our beautiful landscape, but also what makes Ardmore a great place to live, work, and do business.
For many, “economic development” can feel like a vague term—but at its core, it’s about relationships. It’s about helping decision-makers understand our community, our workforce, and our quality of life so that when they are considering where to invest or expand, Ardmore is top of mind.
The Turkey Hunt creates a unique environment for those relationships to form. Spending time together in the field, over meals, and in conversation allows us to share our story in a genuine way. It gives our guests a firsthand look at the people, partnerships, and pride that define Ardmore—things that can’t always be captured in a presentation or brochure.
These connections matter. Many of the projects that bring jobs and investment to communities like ours begin with a simple introduction and a strong relationship.
We are grateful to our event sponsors who make this experience possible each year, and to the many local businesses that allow their employees to take time away from work to serve as guides. Your support not only showcases the best of Ardmore, but also plays a direct role in helping us grow our economy and create opportunities for the future.
