Friday Fun with Sustainers - Meet Jamine Shechter!

✨How many years have you been a member of The Junior League of Philadelphia?
35 years with an 18 year gap

✨What has been your favorite memory or experience as a sustainer in the League?
Coming back as a sustainer after many years away being welcomed back and seeing so many of my old JLP friends still there!

✨If you could share one piece of advice with current members, what would it be?
I joined in 1993, but in 2000 stepped away when I had twins and felt totally overwhelmed with work-life balance. In 2018 they headed off to college and I realized I needed to do some things again just for me and also widen my friend base again. Rejoining the JLP was easy. Everyone was so welcoming, and I was immediately able to dive back in like I had never left. I have reconnected with old friends and made new ones, which is not always easy to do as we all get older. I would encourage everyone to follow my path as the JLP is adaptable to your life and incredibly welcoming and rewarding!

✨What is one fun fact about yourself that you'd like to share with everyone?
Im a fanatical football fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Philadelphia Eagles and in 2024 both of my teams won it all in the same year!
