🚨🔥 RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT 🔥🚨

Conditions have intensified and our area is now under a Red Flag Warning. This means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.

Strong winds + very low humidity + dry vegetation = fires that can start easily and spread rapidly.

Please take this seriously and help protect our community!

🚫 No outdoor burning
🔥 Avoid activities that create sparks (welding, grinding, etc.)
🍔 Use extreme caution when grilling and only on concrete or gravel
🚛 Check trailer chains to ensure they are not dragging
🌾 Clear dry vegetation 50–100 feet from structures if you are able

Recent rainfall does not eliminate the risk. Grass fires can move fast and become dangerous in minutes.

Our recent winter storm has calmed fire danger concern a bit although dormant vegetation will quickly dry out and become available to support active fire behavior. If you are planning to burn piles, we ask that you remember a few things:
• Notify your local fire department or county non-emergency dispatch prior to burning.
• Ensure you have a means to suppress your fire – water and hand tools or equipment.
• Stay with your pile burn until it is completely out.

Units from Dallas Fire and Dallas Police will be escorting Firefighter/Paramedic Jason Parker to Marietta from the DFW area for his funeral. Units from agencies in Love County will be escorting the procession and also in place on overpasses from the Red River to Marietta.
