Carter County Citizen Response Team

Carter County Citizen Response Team Carter County Citizen Response Team is a group of trained and organized residents from across Carter County, Oklahoma.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is a critical component in the effort to engage citizens in making their communities safer, more prepared and more resilient when incidents occur. The Carter County Citizen Response Team is building and training to serve as a local resource for civilian emergency support. In a large-scale operation where the first responder system is overwhelmed

, individuals who have completed Initial CERT Training will have the skills to provide assistance in their homes, neighborhoods, and local communities until first responders arrive. Over 60 volunteers have already completed their applications and background checks – dozens have begun the process of online Incident Management Training, and many will also be receiving field training for disaster response. CERT volunteers can be utilized for support in emergency or non-emergency situations. Requests for assistance will be coordinated through the Carter County Office of Emergency Management. CERT volunteers are NEVER authorized to self-deploy to an emergency that they hear about on the radio, television, scanner, social media, etc. CCCRT will periodically be adding more volunteers across the county. All applicants must be at least 18 years old and successfully pass a background check. For more information, please email [email protected] or visit our page – Carter County Citizen Response Team.
