Ardmore Lions Club Prevention of preventable blindness, community support through scholarship and community service. A conference of some 25 clubs met in Dallas on June 7, 1917.

Lions Club of Ardmore, Founders Club: Lions clubs have an illustrious history dating to 1917. Lions Club began in Chicago when Melvin Jones invited a group of businessmen to Dallas and presented the idea of a service club. The club was to provide service as a group without regard to politics, religion, or race. Ardmore was one of those clubs! Through more than eight decades their commitment to se

rving those in need has never wavered, although the ways in which Lions clubs serve their communities have evolved to keep pace with an ever-changing world. Today, Lions are 1.3 million strong with active clubs located in over 200 countries and geographic areas worldwide
