Meet Kannon Mims! Kannon won Most Improved Player for the Gresham Tigers during the 2025 season. Kannon is in 2nd grade and plays up on the 3rd-grade Gresham Tigers team. We asked some questions of Kannon after winning his award, and here they are!

1. How do you feel about winning Most Improved Player this year?
Answer: Good

2. What made you want to play football?
Answer: I love the sport.

3. What's your favorite football memory so far?
Answer: The first year I played, we went undefeated and won the championship.

4. Has football taught you anything outside of the sport?
Answer: Sportsmanship

5. Are you planning on playing next year, and if so, what is something you want to achieve next year?
Answer: Yes, work harder and get MVP and win another championship.

6. What made you choose Gresham Tigers football?
Answer: To play with my family (cousins).

7. Who is your favorite coach?
Answer: Coach Cali, of course. (the last question and answer may have been made by a certain coach).

We hope Kannon continues to make leaps and bounds in the sport and wins that MVP and championship he's chasing next year.

We are nearing the conclusion of the basketball season, and we have received numerous inquiries regarding our plans for the upcoming football season. We are pleased to confirm that our championship football program will resume in June.

The teams we can confirm at this time include the 4th grade team, comprising current 3rd graders,

the 5th grade team, comprising current 4th graders, and

the 6th grade team, comprising current 5th graders.

We are also exploring the possibility of fielding a 2nd or 3rd grade team, if we have enough children sign up.

Our game schedule will be divided between Ardmore High School and locations in Texas, specifically the Prosper and Anna areas. We hope this information addresses many of your questions.

Support Team Gresham — $5 Friday Fundraiser

Do Better Sports Corp is proud to host a $5 Friday Fundraiser in support of Team Gresham, a dedicated middle school and elementary travel basketball team competing across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Every $5 makes a difference. Funds raised will help cover essential expenses such as travel costs (gas and food), tournament fees, and team-building opportunities that allow our athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Our mission goes beyond basketball. Team Gresham is about teaching life lessons through sports, building character, discipline, and teamwork, and giving our youth something positive and empowering to be part of.

Your support helps shape confident, motivated young athletes and keeps them moving in the right direction.
