The excitement is building!

Today is setup day, and we’re getting everything ready for an unforgettable Family Fun Day. The bounce houses, water slides, and the volleyball pool is coming together, and we’re working hard to make sure families from across Southern Oklahoma have a day full of fun, fellowship, and lasting memories.

We can’t wait to welcome you tomorrow. Bring the whole family and come enjoy a day designed to strengthen families and build community.

See you at Family Fun Day!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and CORE Dad wants fathers to hear this clearly: being a strong dad does not mean carrying every burden by yourself.

Fathers and father figures can experience stress, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, exhaustion, and overwhelm, especially when they feel pressure to stay quiet or hold it all together. You are not failing, and you are not alone. Taking care of your mental health is part of taking care of your family.

At CORE Dad, we believe support should be practical, respectful, and real. Our workshops and resources are designed to help dads connect, grow, and build tools for healthier communication, stronger relationships, and everyday resilience. Whether you need encouragement, community, or a next step toward professional help, there is no shame in reaching out. Every father deserves a place to be honest, ask questions, learn new skills, and be reminded that support is available.

This month, let’s replace stigma with support. Check in on a dad you love. Save and share this post. And if you need support yourself, connect with CORE Dad’s workshops and resources today. Comment, message us, or take the first step toward help. One conversation, one resource, and one step toward support can make a real difference for you and your family.

🎉 Facilitator Shout Out! 🎉

Every strong movement needs someone steady enough to help lead it.

This is Kurt Reisdorf.

Director. Connector. Advocate. Cornerstone of CORE Dad.

Kurt brings more than 20 years of leadership and management experience to CORE Dad, along with a deep understanding of families, community services, and the real challenges fathers face.

As a former child welfare facilitator with OKDHS and a certified HOPE Navigator through the University of Oklahoma’s HOPE Science program, Kurt leads with compassion, patience, and a trauma-informed approach that helps families feel seen and supported.

But Kurt’s impact reaches far beyond the workshop room.

He is a trusted point of contact for partner organizations, a strong voice in the McCurtain County coalition and Rotary Club, and one of the first to step into new trainings, resources, and curriculum that can make this program stronger.

Kurt fully believes in the CORE Dad movement, and it shows in the way he serves.

His passion, knowledge, and commitment have helped shape this program into what it is today.

This is what it looks like to lead with purpose.

Different experiences, different voices. One Mission

Real dads do real things was honored to celebrate two incredible people making a difference at Ardmore Middle School!

For Nurses Appreciation Day, we recognized Ariel Brison for the care, compassion, and support she shows students every day.

For Teacher Appreciation Week, we honored Coach Orso for the leadership, encouragement, and impact he continues to make in the lives of young people.

Thank you both for the work you do for our students and community. We appreciate you!

🎉 Facilitator Shout Out! 🎉

Behind every strong program is someone making sure it actually works.

This is Nathaniel Riggs.

Case Manager. Facilitator. Builder of systems. Voice behind the scenes.

Nathaniel is a father of four who brings real experience into every room. With a background in behavior management and ABA-informed practices, he has spent years helping families navigate challenges, reduce conflict, and build stronger relationships.

But his impact doesn’t stop in the workshop.

From rewriting session material to planning events, running social media, and connecting dads with resources, Nathaniel plays a major role in making this program what it is.

He makes sure every detail is intentional and every dad has the support he needs.
This is what it looks like to invest in families and change the standard.

Different experiences. Different voices. One mission.
