Since 1999, the Ardmore Soup Kitchen has been providing hot wholesome meals to anyone who is hungry. Our dedicated teams of volunteers from area churches, community and school organizations, and local businesses cook and serve the meals in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing a sense of security, and dignified environment to memembers of the community who have limited access to a nutritious
meal. Our dinners are our Ardmore neighbors who have fallen on rough times. Some are low-income individuals, working families, and the homeless. The Ardmore Soup Kitchen serves a weeknight meal from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Ardmore Salvation Army’s Social Services building at 123 A St. To enter the kitchen and dinning room, dinners and volunteers come to the glass doors that face the parking lot. As a charitable organization, the Ardmore Soup Kitchen is a 501©3 nonprofit with six community leaders serving on the organization’s board of directors. Glada Prater serves at the executive director to manager the program, recruit and train volunteers, and plan the meals. Funding for the Ardmore Soup Kitchen comes from a variety of sources including individuals, foundations, local businesses, and churches.
