🙏AGAPE ARDMORE SUPPORTERS
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are asking our community for resources, legal guidance, and prayer for a heartbreaking situation.
A courageous 20-year-old young woman is fighting to protect her two younger sisters. She and her sisters are survivors of repeated sexual abuse. According to the family, their mother repeatedly allowed the alleged abusers to have access to the children despite knowing about the abuse. They say the girls were told they had to forgive their abusers because they had “repented,” even though the abuse allegedly continued.
For the past six months, Agape Ardmore has helped the three adult sisters obtain stable housing, and they have faithfully paid their own rent while working toward independence. Their goal now is to gain custody/guardianship of their two younger sisters and provide them with a safe home.
The family reports they have already contacted DHS, law enforcement, a local shelter, and Legal Aid. They state there has been an open DHS investigation for more than six months. They also report that Legal Aid was unable to represent them because of a conflict of interest.
We can only guess they are representing the mom.
According to the family, the two younger girls are currently being isolated from their three older sisters, have had all contact cut off, and are not attending school. While currently bringing the girls sexual abuser around them. They also report that their mother married a man who was convicted of sexual abuse with his adopted daughter from age fourteen- sixteen and who is expected to be released from prison in February. The sisters are desperately trying to obtain custody/ guardianship before his release and as soon as possible because they fear for the girls’ safety.
Here’s how you can help:
Do you know an attorney who would be willing to represent these young women pro bono or at a reduced cost?
Do you know of grants, nonprofits, or other resources that can help with legal fees, counseling, or emergency assistance?
Please keep this family in your prayers.
If custody is granted, the sisters will need to move from their current 3-bedroom home into a larger home so the younger girls can live with them safely.
If you would like to help financially, 100% of every donation designated for this family will go directly toward housing expenses and the legal fight to protect these children.
