Sooner Youth Camp

Sooner Youth Camp We exist to camp with a Jesus focus. Two weeks of summer camp for 7th thru 12th graders at Lake Murray State Park Group Camp #1.

Since 1947, we’ve been gathering each July to create a unique place where teenagers can experience community, grow in faith and encounter God. Registration begins each February for campers to join in the following summer.

Hello Sooner family — This summer marks the 80th summer of Sooner Youth Camp. Can you believe it?

As we get closer to this milestone, we’d love your help. We’re looking for old Sooner Youth Camp photos from throughout the years — cabins, worship, games, friendships… all of it.

And yes… we’ve got a little incentive. There will be a prize for the oldest dated picture.

“I AM who I AM.” — Exodus 3:14

This summer at Sooner Youth Camp, we’re diving into the name of God and what it means for us today.

From Exodus to the Gospel of John, we see a God who is unchanging, powerful and present. A God who keeps His promises. A God who gives meaning and direction to our lives.

And in Jesus, we hear those same words again —
“I am the bread of life.”
“I am the light of the world.”
“I am the way, the truth and the life.”

Who is God? And what does that mean for you?

Our last day at camp was a day full of… celebration, blessings over our last year campers, singing, hugs, tears (happy and sad) and Sooner magic. ✨

Now we are home, showered and hopefully getting naps. Until next year, we’ll miss you dear ‘ole Sooner Youth Camp.

Last night, we witnessed all three Cobb children’s baptisms.

Each of them came to their parents at different times yesterday wanting to be baptized… not knowing their siblings had asked at other times.

It was a special night and the angels are rejoicing!
