We sincerely appreciate Kevin and the team at Gainesville Harley-Davidson for their ongoing support of Bikers on Parade and AHVA. In addition to the $1,575 donated from their Annual Chili Cook-Off, they contributed an additional $2,500, as well as airtime on local radio stations to help promote BOP 2025. We would not be able to assist our local Veterans without the critical support of our amazing sponsors!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! We kicked off 2026 with a special mission: providing a new refrigerator for Eddie, a 93-year-old Korean War Veteran with an incredible legacy.

Despite being blind, Eddie lives independently and possesses a personality that lights up a room. Spending time with him is like watching history come to life. From his days as a heavyweight boxer—where he crossed paths with Rocky Marciano—to knowing a pre-fame Elvis Presley, Eddie has seen it all. He spent years in law enforcement working undercover in North Central Florida and later shared his love for music as a local DJ.

It is because of your generous support for AHVA (ourahva.org) and Bikers on Parade, that we can assist deserving heroes like Eddie. Thank you for making these moments possible! (Photo shared with Eddie’s permission.)

Dear Friends,

With Giving Tuesday coming up, I'd like to ask your support for American Hometown Veteran Assist. We are a local, all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) charity located in Archer, FL. Our mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to Veterans in North Central Florida, and to provide scholarships to students studying to be First Responders at Santa Fe College.

Over the past year, we have tried to assist our fellow Veterans get through challenging times. We helped "L" from Branford keep her home when rent came due. "C" from Gainesville got his car repaired after a breakdown that could’ve cost him his job. "J" from Chiefland was able to buy groceries and essentials when things got tight. "C" from Archer had car rental after a major accident put him off the road. "J" from Gainesville, "J" from Alachua, and "T" from Gainesville all got help with rent and utilities when times were rough. "N" from Ocklawaha, "J" from Gainesville, "C" from Gainesville, and "R" from Gainesville — we helped keep their lights on, their homes warm, and their faith in this community strong. We ensure that each Veteran we work with is linked up with a social worker from the VA to assist them further.

My personal goal is to leave no brother of sister Veteran behind. Please help us to help those who have honorably served their Country. If you can, please go to https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/G2QLCKXT532AE to donate, or you can send a check to American Hometown Veteran Assist, PO Box 1052 Archer, FL 32618. If you are a Veteran in need, please reach out to me.

Sincerely,
Bill
