Northeast Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (NE PA AHEC) is dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare, particularly for underserved and underrepresented populations, by enhancing the skills and diversity of the healthcare workforce. Our mission is to improve the health of communities in Northeast Pennsylvania by increasing the number and diversity of well-prepared healthcare prof

essionals. Our vision is a region where all individuals have access to high-quality healthcare services provided by a diverse and culturally competent workforce. We strive to achieve this vision by fostering partnerships and collaborations among academic institutions, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders. NE PA AHEC is part of a national network of AHECs that operate in every state, working to improve healthcare through workforce development, health education, and community engagement. As an AHEC, we are committed to promoting health equity and addressing the social determinants of health that impact our communities. Our organization provides a range of programs and services to support our mission, including health career exploration for students, continuing education for healthcare professionals, community health initiatives, and support for underserved populations.

Care Starts Here: Meet Nori D. Zaccheo, M.S. 💊

We are proud to highlight Nori, a PharmD Candidate (Class of 2027) at Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and a dedicated NE PA AHEC Scholar.
For Nori, healthcare isn't just about the science, it’s about the community that raised her. By choosing to stay local, she is helping us build a stronger, healthier Northeast PA.

💬 In her words: "I've loved being an AHEC Scholar because I get to collaborate interprofessionally with other health care students and providers to all come together to enhance patient care!
