The Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild is working hard to open a new fiber arts studio in Old Town, but they need some support to get everything ready. This space will help keep local fiber arts alive, with classes, demonstrations, and a place for artists to share their work.

This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in the early days. Even if you can't donate, a quick share can help it reach people who may be able to support this important community project. 🎨🧶

Please consider sharing or donating if this cause speaks to you. Every bit of support helps bring this space to life for local artisans and learners alike!

Copied from Larry Goldberg's page. Carolyn was a wonderful person and a member of HHSG for many years.

I am very sorry to report the passing of Carolyn Otis, of Arcata, California. Carolyn and her husband Brooks Otis are two longtime close friends (55 years), and this is very upsetting to me. While information is still sketchy, she apparently fell down some stairs and did not survive.
Brooks was a fellow member of our band, Fickle Hill, back in the day, and co-owner of Wildwood Music there for many years. As to Carolyn, if I were to recommend a model for all of us to emulate as human beings, she would be right at the top; an all around wonderful person. RIP, Carolyn, it was a joy and privilege knowing you. ❤😢
