The Humboldt Handweavers and Spinners Guild is a non-profit social organization for anyone interested in textile arts. HHSG membership includes a broad range of textile artists, including, knitters, crocheters, feltmakers, papermakers, basketmakers, woolgrowers, and more. Dye Day, at a member's home. (June) Dye yarn or fabric, dyes and instructions are provided by HHSG. Guild retreat (July) Bring portable projects and a potluck dish to a member's home. Socialize and spin, knit, or whatever. Humboldt County Fair, Ferndale (August)
Events include a guild demonstration room at Belotti Hall where guild members demonstrate their skills and fair goers can try their hand at weaving, contests for beginning and advanced fiber artist, and a sheep to shawl demonstration where a sheep is shorn, the wool carded and spun then woven all in one afternoon.
