We have so many exciting events coming up at the Arcata Playhouse! And even more in the creamery district and outdoors (can’t forget Humboldt Obon Sunday Aug 16th and Illuminature Friday August 28th).

Playhouse Arts will be on the plaza in Arcata tomorrow to talk about the Declaration of Independence. It's part of a years long project called We Are the People funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. Here is short blurb about ti:
The declaration of independence states that it is the right of the people to reimagine our governance as we see fit. On this 250th anniversary of America we are looking to the voices of our community members to reflect on our past and envision a future where we can all belong.
This project begins with you making your voice heard. In the spirit of democracy, the visions you share with us today will shape the direction of this project. Over the next year we will conduct interviews, coordinate artist galleries, and host interactive performances. All this will grow from the input of the people.
Stop in. We are on the Jaocby Store House side of the plaza.

FEB 24 I’m coming to the Arcata Playhouse and I’m ready for some sunshine!
But rain or shine, I’ll be singing, playing piano and… trombone. Together we’ll celebrate Sephardic heritage with Ladino traditional songs about passion, love, cooking, family and even fairytales. I’ll also be playing original Ladino songs of my own that talk of migration, woman empowerment and gender. See you in Arcata!
