The event will feature Stephenie Foster, author of Take Action: Fighting for Women & Girls, a guide that covers the basics of activism and advocacy, offering big and small actions we can all take to shift social norms, change policies and practices, and empower people to fight for the rights and progress of women. Having spent her entire career fighting for the rights of women and girls, Stephenie will share her expertise on the topic of Women: Conflict, Peace & Security, and will be interviewed by SI Director of Advocacy, Leigh Ellwood Brown, and SI Advocacy Advisor, Beverly Bucur.

Today is the day! Meet us at the blood bank to save lives and learn about the work of Soroptimists. Call for an appointment or drop-in and don’t forget to say you’re donating on behalf of Soroptimist of Arcata!

To celebrate Women’s History Month and its theme “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope”, Soroptimist International of Arcata is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Northern California Community Blood Bank, 2524 Harrison Ave., Eureka.

Soroptimist members will greet donors and host an information table from 4 to 7 p.m. However, donors are welcome any time during open hours. Snacks and juice will be provided. Drop in or call the Blood Bank at 707-443-8004 to schedule an appointment.

Please come to help save lives in our community. Be sure to mention that you are donating on behalf of Soroptimist of Arcata. Donors should expect to stay for about an hour and need to bring a photo I.D. or donor card.
