The Precious Pearls Project is a nonprofit organization committed to the empowerment of girls. The organization's purpose is to guide young ladies in developing and maintaining emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. The first program rolled out on behalf of the project is the Precious Pearls group, which targets adolescent girls, grades 6-8. This group is geared towards “empowering girls to believe that they are unique, valuable and made for excellence,” and this will be done through:
1. Developmental workshops that focus on real life issues/struggles that the girls face everyday - self esteem, healthy relationships, bullying, etc.
2. Exposure to new experiences in and out of Desoto County, including the arts, college tours, and community service.
3. Individual pairing with a mentor - We want to connect each girl to a mentor whom she connects with twice a month. There will be one face-to-face meeting between the mentor/mentee per month. We also host an annual Empowerment Brunch for middle and high school girls as well as a Teen Empowerment Summit.
