Where is it going?
This petition is to be delivered to California Governor Gavin Newsom, The California State House, and The California State Senate!

What is the purpose?
"Implement policy changes that prioritize an alternative clean energy economy, ban fracking, eliminate tar sands transportation and refining, and reject the Trans-Pacific Partnership"

How does this apply to you?
This petition has the potential to change the air quality in Southern California. SoCal is the home to the worst air quality in the country which affects both you and your families with cancer, asthma, premature death and cardio-respiratory diseases.
Understanding this, we need to take action in order to reduce the threat of the climate crisis by letting our representatives hear our voices.
Furthermore, this petition will demand that our government protect our families' drinking water, agriculture, and homes. (California is home to many wildfires and droughts due to climate change that displace families and their children from their homes).

UPCOMING PUBLIC MEETINGS!
On Thursday, January 16 we will have a public meeting discussing the Community Emissions Reduction Programs in the Wilmington Senior Center, Los Angeles ! This is dedicated for the Wilmington, West Long Beach, and Carson communities, but is open to all!
We truly want to hear about your concerns. These meetings are held in order to gain insight on communities and give law makers a chance to "develop recommendations for each of the community emissions reduction programs for consideration by CARB’s Governing Board".

Background:
Community emissions reduction programs were developed in accordance to Assembly Bill (AB) 617 (C. Garcia, Chapter 136, 2017) and the Community Air Protection Program. These public meetings are dedicated to reducing cumulative exposure to air pollution in local communities. According to the Community Emissions Reduction Program, "upon approval of a community emission reduction program by an air district board, the program will then be considered by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Governing Board", making local voices heard at the state level.
