Another huge task checked off our summer to-do list..!!
This past spring, we had a bad wash out on trail S-30, south of Cutting Rd, east of Lime Lake, in the Machias NY area.
A HUGE Thank You goes out to everyone who helped with getting the trail back in place..!
Thank You goes out to those that moved the big equipment, brought fill in, operated the machinery, and did the work..!

( In places the wash out was over 8' deep. Gravel, fill, rocks had to be brought in, along with reclaiming railbed material that originally washed out. Trees and stumps were removed "upstream" to prevent it from happening again. Trail surface was packed tight.)

The summer is in full swing, but our guys are out there getting the trails ready for this coming snowmobiling season..!

We got the bridge all done south of Arcade, on Trail C-3.
A big shout out goes to the new landowner where this bridge is, Thank you for allowing us to keep our existing trail in place.

Other guys have been out brush hogging other trails thru-out our network.

And work is being done on Trail S-30 / C-3 where the spring rains caused a big washout.

To all our trail guys and landowners.... Thank You..!

Brush hogging of the trails has begun..!
Even with the windy rainy weather that blew thru today, our guys were still out getting some grass & brush cut back.

Even with this heat, our guys were hard at work again this weekend. And we're still not done.
This is a bridge on Trail C-3 just south of the Town of Arcade.
The original decking was removed last week.
This weekend the brush around the bridge was cut back & widened.
Next will be new deck & railings.

Our first batch of new snowmobile trail stakes being painted..!
We do 30 at a time and then rebundle them.
That way our trail guys can "grab-n-go" when it comes time to start marking our trails.

To the local ATV'ers and Side by Side'ers out there : Please Slow Down..!
To the folks riding the railbed ( Trail S-30 ) from Machias to Bliss, the Club is getting quite a few complaints about aggressive riding, high speed riding, and disregard to the neighboring landowners.

ATV'ers do not have permission, and are Trespassing.
The State Troopers have been informed.

And.... a few of the landowners are so mad about the illegal riding, even thou they do not technically own the railbed right of way itself, ( they own directly along the north & south )
For the summer, they are threatening to put concrete jersey barriers across to stop the riding.

Every summer this is an issue, with ATV's & SXS on this snowmobile trail.
Please be respectful and slow down.

With this wet spring weather finally letting up, Our guys were able to get out and do some drainage, culvert, and grading work.
This is just south of Arcade NY, a great improvement to our trail network.
