This is a pivotal VCA meeting
The Violetville Community Association includes property owners, and residents living in Violetville and Saint Agnes Neighborhoods. Our goal is to foster safety, cleanliness, and neighborliness among ourselves.
We discuss city services, alert neighbors to adverse conditions such as potential water hazards, and provide mutual support, such as distributing water in that situation. We sponsor clean up days, work with Friends of Violetville Park to plan play activities and educational events such as building pollinator gardens.
We connect businesses and government with neighbor’s thoughts about development happening in our area.
Now is the time to update the bylaws to fit our current century. Due to the passing of Sean Tully, who was board president and acting treasurer, we have a gaping hole to fill. We ask you to consider your part in the community association Board. President, Vice president, Treasurer, and Secretary roles are available.
- Are you able and willing to lead in planning and administering activities of the board and the neighborhood?
- Are you skilled in communication?
- Are financial details and responsibilities your strength?
- Are you an encourager?
Please send questions and indication of your willingness to serve to VCA vice president, Mike Weaver. You may message him on this platform, or e-mail at [email protected]. You can call Sue Weaver at 443-683-6658
At the June third meeting, we will introduce those who offer their services and give them a few minutes to speak before voting for a new board.
Location Ascension Saint Agnes hospital board room: free parking. bring ID, ask at main desk for VCA meeting
Time 7 PM
With anticipation,
Mike Weaver, VP

Dumpster dumpster dumpster time!

Saturday morning, approximately 8-12, in front of the school playground, Pine Heights Ave. All residents of Violetville and Saint Agnes neighborhoods are welcome to bring household trash, including furniture, small metal objects, dry cans, glass, plastic, clothes, expired food, worn out toys.

Here are things that don't go in the dumpster, (have patience, it's detailed)
_
"White goods", large appliances such as refrigerator, washer, dryer, even if it is not white. :)
Tires
liquids
hazardous materials such as paints, solvents, pesticides, Pool chemicals, acids, caustics, gasoline, mercury thermometers, syringes, fire extinguisher, propane tanks, helium tanks, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs,
apartment/house clean-outs
commercial project trash, wood, flooring, cement, bricks, sheetrock, concrete, roofing, dirt
large pieces of yard waste like tree branches
no motors or even bicycles
Those are the department of Solid Waste rules.

Here is good news. Our metal recycler will accept metal that the dumpster does not. So those "white Goods", can be recycled, along with bed springs, bikes, grills, etc.
We will make a space for things that still are useful so others can feel free to take them for a second life.
We will also collect outdated food cans and boxes that chickens could eat.

Come enjoy the clean up, the sharing, the recycling!

Please include some trash from around your street or alley to make it a great "Pitch In" event.

Violetville/ St. Agnes Community Dumpster.
The dumpster is scheduled for May 9 approximately 8 AM to 12 noon.
Location: Pine Heights Ave, near the school. This dumpster is available for all Violetville and Saint Agnes neighbors. No contractors please.
We encourage thrifting, so some reusable items can be left with Sue Weaver beside the dumpster for those who want them. If you have a lot of reusable things consider donating them to a charity.
The city doesn't want metal in the dumpster, so a scrap recycler is coming to take metal at the same place and time.

Here are the city's guidelines for the dumpster
