The Colusa County Board of Supervisors has officially approved a resolution designating a portion of Old Highway 99 within the community of Arbuckle as Historic Route 99, accompanied by a ceremonial proclamation recognizing the roadway’s rich historical significance.

This historic designation honors the deep heritage of Arbuckle and celebrates the vital role Old Highway 99 played in connecting local businesses, families, and travelers across California for generations.

Congrats to the Honorees of the Arbuckle 150th Celebration!

As part of our Sesquicentennial Celebration, we were proud to recognize a few individuals whose enduring contributions, service, and commitment to the Arbuckle community have left an indelible mark on our town.

We proudly recognized their legacy and expressed our deepest gratitude to Bob Boles, Charles Geyer, Lyle Charter, Nanny Voorhees, Jan Bradford, and of course our founder Tacitus Ryland Arbuckle.

Members of their families came up to receive an award in their memory.

Wow.. 150 years have come and gone! We want to THANK YOU ALL for supporting this town and loving this town as much as we do. Yesterday was an amazing outpour of love and community spirit and overall togetherness.

We started the day with a parade, an INCREDIBLE vendor faire with over 40 vendors, a rib cook-off tasting for lunch, fun activities such as a bucket brigade (Arbuckle Fire vs. Williams Fire) and watermelon eating contest, a short melodrama gunfight with local actors, and ended the night with Playback, an energetic band playing well-known hits.
