📣 JUNE CHILDREN’S FOOD BAGS ARE HERE! 🧃🥣🍪

During the month of June, any parent, grandparent, guardian, babysitter, foster parent, or caregiver who brings a child with them to food distribution will receive a special children’s food bag in addition to regular food assistance.

This is made possible by a special grant from Edgar A. Thurman Charitable Foundation for Children.

Each children’s bag will include items such as:
🥜 Peanut butter & jelly
🥣 Cereal & milk
🧃 Juice
🍲 Soup & chicken
🧀 Mac & cheese
🍪 Cookies & nabs
🍓 Fruit cups
🌾 Oatmeal & breakfast bars
…and more!

The only requirement:
✅ The child must be present in the vehicle during distribution.

The FIRST distribution this will be available at is:
📍Stuart Rotary Field
🗓 June 4th
⏰ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

We know summer can make it harder for families when school meals are unavailable, and we want to help make sure children have easy meals and snacks available at home. ❤️

The Ararat Ruritan Club would like to congratulate this year's scholarship recipients.

Ararat Ruritan Local scholarship winner (graduating student who lives in the Dan River voting district) - Audrey Hiatt - who will be attending Radford University and majoring in Nursing. Audrey is the daughter of Patrick and Susan Hiatt.

Ararat Ruritan BRES scholarship (graduating student who attended Blue Ridge Elementary school) - Lacey Easter - who will be attending Forsyth Technical Community College and studying Cardiac Sonography. Lacey is the daughter of Jerry and Alison Easter.

Ararat Ruritan Legacy scholarship (graduating student who is related to a past or present member of the Ararat Ruritan Club) - David Lawson III - who will be attending VA Tech and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. David is the son of DJ and Miranda Lawson.

Ararat Ruritan Club President Tom Perriello presented a donation for Patrick County High School Senior Beta Club to our guest speaker Lacey Sutphin during last week’s meeting. Lacey is PCHS student, currently the Virginia Sr Beta President, running for National Senior Beta President this summer.

🚛 We’re on the move! 🍎🥖

Disaster Relief Food Ministry Inc. will be in Patrick County on Saturday, April 25th with two distribution stops to help serve our community.
