Good afternoon Ararat Community!

With 4th of July approaching in just two weeks, we figured we would communicate some important information about what the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department is doing that day.

The parade is starting at 9 AM that morning. The parade route will begin on the Old US 52 portion of Ararat Rd. The parade will end at the fire department.

The fun doesn't end there though! We will have food and ice cream trucks on scene!

Around 11:30 am, we will have our RZR raffle drawing. You do not have to be present to win.

Do you have a 4-wheeler, RZR, or golf cart? Dress it up and bring it by the department by 11 AM to enter our contest. There will be a $5 entry fee for this. We will have judges on site and will be giving away 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for each category (golf carts and RZR/4-wheelers) and then a Best in Show Award for the coolest, most decked out of the entire bunch!

We hope this information helps and we hope to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with our entire community. ❤️

Hey there Ararat Community!
With 4th of July quickly approaching, your volunteer fire department wanted to have a little fun with you all!

We are going to do a show with golf carts, RZRs, and 4wheelers. Only $5 to enter! We will have first, second, and third prizes for RZRs/4wheelers, and also first, second, and third prizes for golf carts. We will also have a best in show award. So deck out your things and bring them by the station by 11AM on July 4th!

Good morning Ararat Community!

After last night's storm, we are expected to receive more storms in the area throughout the weekend. Be mindful of any roadways that may become flooded. Do not drive on a flooded roadway, all it takes is one second. Also, please be sure to report any trees and power lines down. In the event of a power outage, make sure to have plenty of canned goods and clean water on hand.

Hello Ararat Community!

Kenneth Chilton has been a cornerstone in this community for many years. Recently, he has incurred some medical expenses. After many years dedicated to the fire department and the Ararat Community, we would like to ask you all for help in return.

Eldora Ruritan Club will be hosting a hot dog fundraiser with all funds going to Kenneth and his family to help cover the costs incurred from his recent hospital visit.

We would be delighted to see you all on Saturday, June 20th at 5 PM. Be sure to grab some hot dogs and participate in the cake auction that will be there.

Hello Ararat Community!
We have received word from Chief/Fire Marshall that Surry County has rescinded the residential burn ban and will be in effect at 5PM this evening.

While this is wonderful news for our community, please remain making safe fire decisions.

Thank you for continuing to support the community by refraining from burning over the past month. We appreciate you all working with us to ensure that we stay safe in Ararat.
