5 years a thriver and this tattoo reminds me why chemo brain is real, and why none of us should go through this without support.

As you may have saw last night, I launched Beyond A Cancer Diagnosis Cancer Support Community—— a free space for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer. Men, women, every cancer type, every part of the journey: newly diagnosed, in treatment, survivors, thrivers, caregivers, and loved ones. You don’t have to live near New Orleans or already know FLAW to belong here.

This is a place to ask questions, share what you’re going through, find real information, celebrate the wins, and lean on others on the hard days. Every journey looks different — here, we hold space for all of them, with kindness and zero tolerance for judgment or negativity.

FLAW has created a new online group, Beyond the Diagnosis: Cancer Support Community, for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer.

This welcoming community is open to men and women, all cancer types, and every part of the journey—including those newly diagnosed, currently in treatment, survivors, thrivers, caregivers, and loved ones.

This is a place to ask questions, share experiences, find helpful information, celebrate victories, and receive support on the difficult days. You do not have to live in our local area or already be involved with FLAW to join.

Most importantly, this will be a kind, respectful, and supportive community. Members are welcome to be honest about the hard days, but bullying, judgment, disrespect, personal attacks, or negativity directed toward others will not be tolerated. Every cancer journey is different, and we will respect one another’s experiences, feelings, and choices.

Fight Like A Warrior Foundation is honored to welcome Dr. Amy Rivere as the guest speaker for the Thriver Gala 2026: Lights of Hope! 💛

Dr. Rivere is a board-certified breast surgical oncologist with Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has performed surgery on many members of our FLAW family, including our founder, Taysha Gibbs, and is a passionate advocate for breast cancer patients and their families.

Dr. Rivere has been a strong supporter of FLAW since the very beginning. She has attended our events, advocated for our mission, and previously supported our work as a sponsor. We are incredibly grateful for the many ways she continues to show up for FLAW and the cancer community.

We cannot think of anyone more meaningful to help us share this special evening!
