💗💚💙 Awareness doesn’t end on October 13!

Yesterday was Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, but for the individuals and families living with Stage IV breast cancer, this journey continues every single day.

Our Founder and Executive Director, Taysha Gibbs, shares her personal journey with metastatic breast cancer, including what it means to be NED (no evidence of disease) while continuing treatment.

Her story is one of hope, but it’s also a reminder of why continued research, advocacy, and support for those living with metastatic disease are so important.

Today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. 💗💚💙

Our founder Taysha and many of our FLAW family are living with metastatic breast cancer, so today is personal.

Metastatic breast cancer is the kind that spreads beyond the breast. It’s the kind that takes lives. And it doesn’t get nearly enough attention or research funding.

Here’s what we want you to know: a metastatic diagnosis is not the end of your story. Thriving doesn’t always mean treatment is over. Sometimes it means living, loving, laughing, and finding purpose right in the middle of the fight.

To our fellow MBC thrivers: we see you. You are not alone.

Wear the pink, but do the work. 🎀

🎀 A LITTLE COMFORT. A LOT OF LOVE. AND AN AMAZING GROUP OF WOMEN! 💗

We are so grateful to the wonderful ladies of AORN Chapter 1902 (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses) for choosing to support FLAW during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

These amazing women came together to collect so many thoughtful items for our Chemo Comfort Bag Initiative, helping us bring comfort, encouragement, and a little extra love to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. 💗

A very special thank you to Alicia Ault for recommending FLAW and leading this effort! Alicia, we appreciate you and everyone who helped make this possible! 🫶

It’s community support like this that allows our small, local nonprofit to continue making a difference in the lives of cancer warriors and their families.

What a BEAUTIFUL Saturday in Old Arabi! ☀️💗💙💚

FLAW is out at the Old Arabi Sugar Fest, and we are having such a great time! 🫶

We absolutely LOVE getting out into our community, seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and sharing our mission of supporting cancer warriors, survivors, and their families!

And of course, one of my favorite things is connecting with fellow cancer thrivers and hearing their stories! 💗💪

A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers and supporters who continue to show up and help us spread love, hope, and awareness. We couldn’t do what we do without y’all! 🥰

If you’re looking for something to do today, come on out to The Aycock Barn in Old Arabi! The Sugar Fest is going strong until 7 PM, with live music, food, vendors, and lots of family fun!

💗 WEAR THE PINK. BUT DO THE WORK. 🎗️

We LOVE seeing our communities turn pink during October! But Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about so much more than ribbons, shirts, and celebrations.

It’s about turning awareness into ACTION.

In this video, our Founder & Executive Director, Taysha Gibbs, shares her perspective as someone living with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer.

Her message is simple: Awareness matters, but what we DO with that awareness matters even more.

💗 Know your body and understand your risk.
💗 Stay up to date with recommended screenings.
💗 Advocate for yourself and your health.
💗 Support those still receiving treatment.
💗 Honor and remember those we’ve lost.

And remember, thriving doesn’t always mean treatment is over. Sometimes it means continuing to live, love, laugh, and find joy right in the middle of it all.

At FLAW, we’re committed to supporting individuals and families affected by ALL cancers, not just during awareness months, but throughout the year.
