Introducing! The newest edition to Sheila Phipp’s “Painting for Justice” portrait series:
"Painting For Justice" is an ongoing series of Portraits of people who are currently serving time for crimes they did not commit. This portrait is the seventh piece of the infamous series that’s internationally accredited for social justice awareness!
Today I want to introduce to you Brian Berry. Brian is serving, Life without parole at Angola State Prison. While serving 27 years in prison, he has maintained his innocence.
Brian on his story transcribed from a personal letter : "On September 23rd, 1994, I was taken into custody by Baton Rouge Homicide Detectives, I had told the detectives everything I know and everything that was told to me and what I witnessed on September 14, 1994.
