This past weekend was a monumental one for the Live Like Leo Foundation. We are honored to officially announce the opening of the brand new batting cages for the Santa Cruz Girls Fastpitch Softball League! 🥎
Thanks to our amazing donors and supporters, LLL was able to fully fund this facility, providing these young athletes a dedicated space to grow, develop, and thrive.

It was an honor to celebrate this milestone during the league’s opening ceremonies. With the community’s families and players in attendance, the atmosphere was a 🌞 beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.
A huge thank you to:
• The Manu Koenig, Soquel Supervisor, who led the ribbon-cutting and the Softball League Board members who helped us officially “don” the new facility and cut the ribbon.
Our deepest thanks to who tirelessly led the city planning and ex*****on with to turn a dream into a reality. Every family who came out to cheer on these players!

At Live Like Leo, we will never stop looking for ways to invest in our future leaders. We are incredibly proud to officially add athletic programs to our funding repertoire, ensuring that the next generation has the tools they need to succeed both on and off the field.

As we wrap up this year, we’re filled with gratitude for what the Live Like Leo Foundation has been able to accomplish.

This year, because of you, we:

✈️ Funded life-changing travel and study-abroad experiences for students who may never have had the opportunity otherwise with our premier partner

🏅 Awarded 3 $1000 Leo Spirit Awards to inspiring young leaders investing in their education and future

🏃‍♀️ Hosted our most impactful Run Like Leo event yet surpassing prior years by raising over $30,000 in funds with more than 150 runners signed up, all in celebration of movement, resilience, and Leo’s enduring spirit

🥎 Issued a grant to the , helping break ground in 2026 on a new batting cage giving young softball players a long-overdue space to train, grow, and develop as confident athletes…more to come on that!

Through this partnership, we will be providing grants to Santa Cruz students toward college tuition, expanding our mission to support not only global exploration but long-term educational access and opportunity close to home.

At the heart of everything we do is the belief that the world is bigger than what’s right in front of us and that young people, when given access and encouragement, can lead with empathy and purpose.

Today Dinasha and I took another step forward in our journey to support communities through our foundation.

We are finalising the launch of the “Live Like Leo Scholarship” fund, exclusively for students in Santa Cruz County! This is a significant milestone, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it. all high school students in Santa Cruz County are eligible to apply and receive scholarship funds. A key element of this scholarship is the value we place on international and overseas experiences. We believe that exposure to diverse cultures and global perspectives enriches a student’s educational journey and helps cultivate compassionate, well-rounded individuals. Therefore, a primary criterion for the scholarship is that applicants have participated in an overseas or international experience at some point during their high school years. We look forward to supporting local students as they pursue their dreams and broaden their horizons through this opportunity.
