Our chapter had a great day at the Southeast Area Rally today!
Members participated in leadership and career development events and attended leadership workshops.
Congratulations to the following participants:
🎤 Chloe participated in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking contest. She drew topics from a hat and had 30 minutes to write a 4-6 minute speech. She placed first and will advance to the state championship this summer at the State FFA Convention.
🎙️Savannah participated in the Prepared Public Speaking event. She wrote a 6-8 minute speech about the importance of mental health in agriculture. She placed first and will advance to the state championship this summer at the State FFA Convention.
🛠️ Landon, Pierson, Chloe, and Lorelei participated in the senior Agricultural Mechanics contest. They had to troubleshoot small engines, wire circuits, perform woodworking skills and more. Landon was the 4th high individual and Pierson placed 3rd. The team placed 2nd.
🚜 Kendall participated in the Junior Agricultural Mechanics contest. He had to identify tools, demonstrate measuring proficiency, and make mechanical calculations. He was the 7th high individual.
🐴 Autumn, Montana, and Taegan were on the Horse Hippology team. They judged classes of horses, identified tack, breeds, and conformation. Autumn was the 4th highest individual and the team placed 4th.
🤠 Colton, Layton, Liam, and Cameron were on the junior Stockman’s team. They judged classes of hay, livestock, and meat. They identified feeds, equipment, and breeds of livestock. Cameron placed 4th, Colton placed 3rd, Layton placed 2nd, and Liam was the high individual. The team placed 1st.
Several members volunteered to help facilitate the middle school contests. We had a plethora of people who jumped in to help serve as contest officials, lead workshops, pick up and serve food, set up, clean up, and help make today go smoothly. Thank you to our FFA family of supporters.
