The only thing more lovely than a quilt is the quilter who made it.

Bette spent a lifetime raising and caring for her family including her husband of 52 years and 4 children. Quilting provides her peace of mind, exercises her fingers, and most importantly captures in every stitch the love she houses for those around her. Having survived breast cancer, she now volunteers at her local Alzheimer's day care attended by her husband while battling cancer once again, this time in stage 4.

Hands of Time is inspired by Bette’s generosity in sharing her time and talents and was honored to grant a wish made for her to attend The Great Wisconsin Quilting Show this month. The gift of attending the show for 3 days along with her daughter to explore all the riches found in quilting and being surrounded by fellow quilters is only a token for the gratitude that will never fully express the love and thanks from anyone touched by Bette’s caring time and love filled quilts.

Memory Camp 2021 is Back!

Do you know of anyone dealing with dementia who would love to relive the days at camp? Hands of Time wants to help make your wish of sending them to camp come true!

Memory Camp is an experience for participants with mild to moderate dementia, their care partners and families. Experience the best parts of camp and be part of a community where we leave dementia stigma behind: Sing, sit by the campfire, savor s’mores, work on jigsaw puzzles, ride a pontoon boat, do beach yoga, swim, go fishing and relax on the shore of a gorgeous lake! Led by Directors and Memory Pioneers Rev. John and Dr. Susan McFadden.

This time last year we worried what would happen if our elderly parents, and the many others like them, went for weeks without being able to connect with family and friends. We never imagined we would be doing this for a year! So Hands of Time rushed to deliver as many Facebook Portals as we could to area seniors and care communities. While nothing replaces the comfort of a hug, one small silver lining this year has been the many video calls Hands of Time enabled.

Hands of Time's Portal donations over the past year have been a such a blessing to hundreds of family member and friends that we have decided to do it again this year! If you know of an area senior that we could offer the extraordinary experiences of fun and easy video calls, drop us a note at [email protected].
