Nicki began her career with AmeriCorps and San Diego County YMCA Social Services after graduating from college, where she worked with youth in a variety of roles, including a mentoring program and before- and after-school programs. She later taught English as a Foreign Language to both children and adults in Turkey and Poland.

What Nicki loves most about working with kids is being there for those moments when things finally click. Whether they’re tackling a challenge at school, struggling with homework, or navigating something personal, seeing the confidence come back and watching them feel proud of themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of what she does.

In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, 641 children in Kaukauna, Seymour, Kimberly, Greenleaf, and Wrightstown find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

📚 Empowered Tutoring's Library Learning Program returns this September!

We're proud to once again offer FREE tutoring for children whose families cannot afford academic support. Sessions will be available at libraries in the following communities:

📚 TUTOR HIGHLIGHT: Hope Lundt 📚

We're excited to highlight Hope Lundt, one of our dedicated tutors. Hope's passion for education and commitment to helping students succeed make her a valued member of our team. Hope is an Elementary Education major at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. She chose to pursue education because of her experiences as a student. She faced challenges throughout her education, but was fortunate to have teachers who believed in her, supported her, and made a lasting difference in her life. Their kindness and encouragement inspired Hope to become the kind of teacher who helps every student feel seen, valued, and capable of succeeding.

Today, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the J.J. Keller Foundation for its generous support.

Because of this funding, students in our community who are struggling academically receive the one-on-one tutoring and encouragement they need to catch up and succeed in school. Many of the students we serve are behind their grade level in reading and math and face challenges that can make academic success difficult. This funding helps ensure they have access to supportive, caring tutors and opportunities to build confidence.
