One month away to America's 250 Birthday. Scouting has raised over $6,000 in our $15,000 dollar for dollar match! Contributing a $250 gift toward the Bay-Lakes Council Endowment, a generous anonymous donor, will match dollar for dollar, for a total of $500 which is invested directly into the council endowment. Help us close the $9,000 matching gift by July 4 (one month from today)!

An endowment is the gift that keeps on giving—it is invested and a small yearly distribution is returned back to help Scouting each year. You are helping ensure that Scouting continues well into the future! Click here or on the frame below to give and your dollars will double.

Thanks to this crew on Thursday morning, we were able to lay down some concrete and fill some campsite sono tubes for new permanent shelters in Fox, Ojibwa and Ottawa campsites.

"Join us for Whitewater Weekends and experience some of the best Whitewater in Wisconsin at Gardner Dam Adventure Base!

Open to all Scouts BSA and Venturing participants 13 and older including registered adult leaders. This introduction class is designated for anyone who has always wanted to try whitewater kayaking. The class begins indoors with basic safety instructions and
then moves to the water. A team of certified instructors will assist you with outfitting the required gear. Once outfitted, you will start your experience in the pond, on flat water, learning various rescues and paddle strokes and building your confidence
in whitewater boats. Lastly, you will spend time on the Wolf River practicing your skills and going through multiple types of rapids!

Lodging will be inside Wausau Homes Adventure Lodge at Gardner Dam Adventure Base, or you may choose to camp at any site on property. Our excellent cook staff will keep you nourished, starting with a cracker barrel on Friday through Lunch on Sunday. A fully
trained and enthusiastic volunteer staff provides all of the leadership, instruction and supervision for each weekend. Bay-Lakes Council provides all equipment, food, lodging and emergency services.

Be ready to get wet! Scouts must be at least 14 (or 13 AND have finished 8th Grade), have completed the BSA swimmer classification, and have a completed BSA Medical form A/B. Each camper is also responsible for all their clothing, swimming attire (recommend

Don't miss this National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course with an added adventure. Bay-Lakes Council's NYLT Pack and Paddle will be held August 8-16, 2026.

Register by May 31 for the lowest price! We have Scouts from 5 different councils already signed up.

This course contains all the NYLT content, in the context of a wilderness backpack and canoe trek, where participants put leadership theory to immediate, real-world practice. Participants must be 13+ years and at least First Class rank. They will learn to set a personal vision, establish goals, and lead themselves and others, and will gain wilderness skills too. They will return to their home Troops and Crews with the tools and enthusiasm to lead their units using the Patrol Method. For many, NYLT Pack and Paddle is a mountaintop experience from which they will benefit the rest of their lives. Check it out at https://loom.ly/fBethK0.

Still not sure Wood Badge is for you?

Think you’ve had enough professional training already?

I went to Wood Badge thinking I’d pick up a few leadership tips.

I left with lifelong friends, renewed motivation, and tools I use every single day — in Scouting and beyond.
The neckerchief is special.

But the growth? That’s the real gift.

If you’ve been on the fence, this is your sign. Sign up for Wood Badge 2026. You won’t regret it.
